Freya Rose Woven for Women

This June, an award-winning shoe and jewellery designer brand Freya Rose launches her “Woven for Women” jewellery collection. In collaboration with The Prince’s Trust, Freya’s reimagined her bestselling designs in aid of the #CHANGEAGIRLSLIFE campaign. With every purchase of the new collection, Freya Rose London donates £5 to The Prince’s Trust.

The Woven for Women collection comprises 12 statement pieces of jewellery – earrings and cuffs, handcrafted from 22ct gold vermeil. Effortlessly lightweight to wear, yet bold and unique in design, the intricate gold weave jewellery is a contemporary development of an ancient East Indonesian craft. Each piece is crocheted by artisan jewellers using a distinctive, now specialist technique that only a small number of talented craftsmen and women can create.

Launching in support of two incredible women lead initiatives, Freya’s hope for the Woven for Women collection is to communicate the strength that can be found in “Women supporting Women” whilst also raising money to develop her personal passion project of helping revive a traditional jewellery making craft in Bali, providing women greater opportunities to learn how to make jewellery and keep the country’s traditional craft techniques alive.

Having been supported by The Prince’s Trust herself, Freya Rose now wants to help support this life-changing charity which champions young entrepreneurial individuals and enables them to realise their business dreams regardless of their background.

Freya says,  When I discovered the intricate and beautiful technique of woven wire, whilst visiting our artisans in Bali, I instantly resonated with the idea that the woven nature of the craft represents the power in women supporting women. The concept behind the weave is that whilst light, delicate and feminine, it holds such strength – reflecting how women are stronger together.”
