Interior design studio A.LONDON has unveiled two distinctive residential schemes at Chelsea Waterfront, the landmark riverside development set directly on the Thames in Chelsea. Appointed as one of a select number of design studios to the project, A.LONDON has created two aspirational show apartments that together demonstrate the studio’s ability to translate conceptual narratives into beautiful liveable interiors.
The first apartment in Tower West channels the rebellious spirit and creative energy of 1970s King’s Road through layered materials, expressive textures and a richly curated approach to detailing. The second apartment in Tower East offers a quieter counterpoint, a contemporary interior inspired by the shifting qualities of natural light across the river from dawn to dusk.

“Chelsea Waterfront gave us the opportunity to design two interiors that respond to the setting in different ways, one in Tower West and the other in the newly completed Tower East, each with its own clear direction. Across both apartments, we focused on balancing materials and liveability to create spaces that feel thoughtful, comfortable and suited to the riverside setting, while maintaining their own distinct character.” Sophie Rastrick, Interior Designer, A.LONDON
Tower West: The Spirit of King’s Road
The design narrative for this apartment draws on the cultural energy and bold style of King’s Road in its 1970s heyday, a period defined by artistic experimentation and unapologetic glamour. Generous glazing frames views across the river and the wider London skyline, and A.LONDON has positioned living and dining spaces to keep the Thames at the centre of the residential experience throughout.
The studio drew additional inspiration from the photography of Slim Aarons, particularly his images of the Italian Riviera and the glamour of Monte Carlo during the same era. A photograph of Lake Como, positioned above the dining table, became a key storytelling element and directly informed the terrace design, which features iron-framed furniture, burgundy accent tables and sculptural spiral topiary.
In the principal bedroom, imagery of classic Riva boats shaped a palette of rich timber tones and aqua accents, bringing a sense of sun-soaked European travel into the apartment.
The apartment’s existing finishes, including wood, chrome and black marble, were embraced rather than replaced, with retro-inspired wallpapers, fabrics and furnishings introduced to complement the concept. The result is an interior that feels curated over time, characterful and layered.
Tower East: Light on the River
The second apartment in Tower East takes a different approach, one guided by the natural rhythm of daylight as it moves across the Thames. In the living spaces, the palette opens up with airy tones, pale blues and warm orange accents that reference the early morning light and the glow of a river sunset. As the apartment moves into it the bedrooms, the tones deepen and settle, creating calm, restorative retreats.
Sculptural forms, layered textures and carefully chosen materials give the interior a refined, contemporary character, with seating and entertaining areas positioned to frame the sweeping views of the London skyline beyond the glazing.

Across both apartments, A.LONDON’s approach reflects the studio’s belief that great show home design goes beyond surface appeal. Each scheme is conceived to allow prospective buyers to immediately imagine themselves living in the space, entertaining, unwinding, and engaging with the city around them.
“Chelsea Waterfront is a genuinely special setting, and we wanted both schemes to honour that. Together, they reflect what we do best: interiors that have a clear point of view and a strong sense of place.” Rachel Clark, Senior Director, A.LONDON

About Chelsea Waterfront
Chelsea Waterfront is a large-scale, mixed-use development comprising several landmark buildings, including Tower East, Tower West, the restored Powerhouse (formerly Lots Road Power Station), The Rotunda, and a collection of low-rise riverside residences. Together, they form a cohesive new residential neighbourhood that blends heritage architecture with contemporary design, offering a unique and expansive vision for luxury living on the Thames.
Located within the prestigious Chelsea Harbour and designed by the internationally acclaimed architect Sir Terry Farrell, Chelsea Waterfront is a testament to architectural ingenuity and urban connectivity, this development meaningfully connects the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea with the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham through three beautifully integrated bridges spanning the creek.
Anchored by the restored Lots Road Power Station – now known as Powerhouse – the scheme forms the architectural centrepiece of Chelsea Waterfront. Created by CK Asset Holdings Limited, it represents one of London’s final riverfront residential addresses of this scale and distinction.
Tower West and Tower East were created in a diamond shape to provide panoramic views of London’s skyline and both sides of the river. These residences, epitomise luxury living while paying homage to the building’s storied past.
Chelsea Waterfront has been widely recognised for its ambition and quality, winning Gold in the WhatHouse Awards for Best Renovation, praised by judges as “an architectural feat of astonishing scale” and “a masterclass in sensitive restoration.” It was also awarded Silver in the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards in the Masterplan category and shortlisted for Construction News Awards in the Best Regeneration Project category.
