Meseme: Sustainable lighting pendants that embodies a tranquil haven

London-based MESEME Studio created a sculptural lighting collection of sustainable modular pendants made from a combination of sustainable paper types sourced from paper pioneer’s G.F Smith.

Drawing inspiration from nature’s graceful curves, the collection embodies a tranquil haven. The collection was showcased as the feature installation at Future Icons Selects earlier this year, taking centre stage in the ground floor reception area of the Oxo Tower’s iconic Bargehouse Building.

Sustainable Beauty Meets Design Innovation

CONCHA elevates paper as a hero material, utilising textured Gmund Bier and Colorplan papers. This sustainable approach explores the unique properties and fluidity of paper, resulting in a collection that is both beautiful and eco-conscious. Available in three distinct angular models, each offered in two sizes, CONCHA boasts a versatile colour palette of five earthy tones – Vanilla, Ochre, Brick Red, and Chestnut Brown – that whisper of nature’s calming embrace. A captivating Royal Blue shade rounds out the selection, providing a touch of modern sophistication.

CONCHA is further enriched by warm brass details and hand-blown opal ellipsoid glass shades. These pearl-like shades evoke ethereal beauty while softly diffusing light, creating a captivating interplay depending on their angle and translucence.

The collection seamlessly blends contemporary design with poetic expression. The collection is a testament to nature’s enduring beauty and resilience, achieved through the interplay of colour, texture, and light. This results in a calming and inviting atmosphere, perfect for fostering relaxation and reflection. Each pendant light is meticulously hand-crafted and assembled in our London-based studio at the Blackhorse Workshop.
