The Wood Flooring Co. has been offering high-quality wood flooring to homes across the UK for nearly a year. With such vast expertise and an ever-evolving product catalogue, the Worcestershire brand is committed to offering its customers engineered, laminate and No-Vinyl tile flooring options to suit a range of interior specifications.
Here, we chat to founders, husband and wife David Mudd (Founder and Director) and Natalie Mudd (Creative Director) about The Wood Flooring Co.’s first year in business.
Tell us about your experience in the industry?
D: I’ve worked within the retail flooring industry for over 20 years, selling engineered wood, laminate, and luxury vinyl from a range of different suppliers to the British public. I started out as a teenager fitting floors nationwide for product launches and design floors, before setting up our sister company Premier Flooring in 2009.
So, where does The Wood Flooring Co. come into this?
N: Helping customers in our retail showrooms made us realise that the wood flooring market can be overwhelming – even more so when making a purchase online. There are so many plank sizes, colours, surface finishes and wood grade varieties that it can be hard to know where to start. This gave us the idea to create an accessible collection of high quality, design-led wood and laminate floors to sell online direct to customers. And so, The Wood Flooring Co. was born.

How can we shop the full collection?
D: Customers can browse our entire selection of products online, with the option to order three free samples straight to their door. We have recently upgraded our showroom located at Worcester’s Great Western Business Park, which has allowed us to double in size, invest more in inventory, and offer our customers even more great products online and in store.
What makes The Wood Flooring Co. different from competitors?
D: Our team remains small and so our service is very personal, many of our staff have grown with the company so we all take a huge amount of pride in the service we provide and the quality of the product.
N: Each collection in The Wood Flooring Co. catalogue has been hand-selected by our team of specialists to combine the most tasteful colours and grains with stylish plank sizes, laying patterns and finishes. We offer matching accessories, including door thresholds and scotia to provide our customers with a complete flooring solution and seamless flooring transition.

You mention product quality, tell us more about this?
D: Trust me when I say we’ve done our research… endless trips to Germany, evenings spent agonising over colour variations and wood grades. We strive to sell floors our customers will love, just as much as we do.
N: All our planks are German engineered, so you can rest assured that each and every plank is manufactured to the highest quality and will look beautiful for many years to come. We use responsibly sourced European wood and an intelligent click system for hassle free installation and a perfect finish.
What about new launches?
N: We recently introduced a collection of No-Vinyl tiles. Emulating the same texture and tone as real wood, our No-Vinyl tiles offer customers and eco-friendly, sustainable option without the use of PVC found in traditional LVT flooring. From the paler, lighter Innsbruck Oak to the richer, darker Nouveau Smoked Oak, we’ve got a selection of beautiful shades to suit a range of décor schemes.
