OUBAS knitwear for the next generation

Started in 2012, OUBAS knitwear designs appeal to those wanting subtle and understated elegance, with an appreciation of colour and detail. For those wanting to invest in pieces they will have in their wardrobe for a long time.

The brand began organically and for a few different reasons, encouraged primarily by intuition and a desire to be a positive ripple within the fashion landscape. Having gained skills in traditional knitwear production, founder Kate wanted to create something that was a slow, local alternative to a vast global industry. Through OUBAS they offer a hopeful and positive community where a closer relationship between ‘consumer’ and a clothing label can be enjoyed. A greater personal connection to an item of clothing is encouraged, through their limited run collections and transparent processes.

Their vision is simple: to build a next-generation knitwear brand that has a positive and lasting effect on employment in their local area and the skills associated with knitwear and clothing.
