Black Ivy redesigns the Jacobean Hotel bedrooms

Formally known as the Brooklands Grange, the Jacobean Hotel is a hidden gem set back from the hustle and bustle of city life nestled in surrounding fields of the village of Allesley.

Due to ongoing renovation at the Jacobean Hotel and the day to day running of the business, outsourcing some of this work became essential. Black Ivy Design was instructed to take over the design and project management of the bedrooms relieving some of the pressure on the management team. Since the renovation the hotel has seen revenue increase by 500% and has risen to become number 1 hotel in Allesley.

The Challenge

In 2018 Luke Truslove took over the hotel on the Holyhead Road, Coventry which was essentially stuck in the 80’s. Then called the Brooklands Grange, the hotel was run down unkempt. Eventually, over a long period of time work was carried out bit by bit but he knew to get the return on his investment quicker, he would have to outsource the renovation. He saw the perfect solution in Black Ivy Design to take on the design and project management of the bedrooms. They knew the building had potential but didn’t have the time or skills to facilitate the renovation.

What won the hotel over was Black Ivy Design’s commitment and professionalism whilst offering a concept package with each room based on a different theme and narrative. The design presentation included everything the clientneeded and took on everything regarding the renovation, so the client didn’t have to worry.

The Results

The renovated rooms are unique and are the most requested rooms in the hotel. The guests love the unusual features and love how tranquil and at home they make them feel. Their reviews sum up their experiences well:
