Bee and Sons, a British knitwear brand, launched a new range of cashmere cardigans that has been given a second life! Made from 100% reworked and recycled textiles, the Oskar – featuring an exclamation mark and the Joey – featuring a question mark, have been given a second life in Prato Portugal and then made by their amazing team of knitters in Nottingham.
Part of a six-part collection, the Oscar and Joye unisex pieces have been created in small batch production with a pre-order wait time of up to two weeks.
Inspired by her two sons – Oskar, full of pranks and surprises and Joey, a philosopher at heart, forever asking questions, founder Deborah Bee said: At last we get to do some menswear. The Bee sons have been ever on at me to make something fun but cosy – but now the girlfriends have walked off with them, so that didn’t work. The rest of the collection is still being knitted. Watch this space.” Deborah Bee Founder
Bee and Sons Philosophy
At Bee and Sons, they’d rather you saved up for one ‘good’ jumper than bought five ‘bad’ ones. Good means natural, using yarns that contain no synthetics, can be recycled into new yarn and won’t end up in landfill. The quality of Bee and Sons yarns means you can love them a long time.
They choose Italian yarn-makers who have been spinning yarns for decades. Their recycled yarn come from Prato, home to an incredible community of world-expert recyclers, who saw the value of secondhand fibre centuries ago. Bee and Sons knitters are based in Mansfield, all creative and highly skilled.
