Noushka Design and Wear the Walls launch bold collection to reimagine Cornish style

noushka design and wear the walls collection

A long-envisioned collaboration brought together in Cornwall, inspired by the tranquil garden of Penally House and  the wild beauty of Cornish landscapes.

Two of the UK’s most distinctive creative forces in interiors, Anouska Lancaster of Noushka Design and Carrie Brightley of Wear the Walls, have joined forces in a bold new collaboration. Drawn together by a shared love of colour, storytelling, and joyful, feminine design, the collection brings a fresh new energy to traditional Cornish interiors.

Years in the making, the idea took shape when Anouska relocated to Cornwall – where Carrie runs her print-focused lifestyle brand Wear the Walls. With both creatives finally in the same place, they set their shared vision into motion: to bring a modern, cool edge to Cornwall’s design story – one that embraces bold print, expressive colour, and a more elevated, contemporary take on coastal interiors.

The Noushka Design x Wear the Walls collection offers a fearless take on the region’s aesthetic, replacing cliche design with bold print, layered colour, and unapologetic personality. The range includes wallpaper, fabric, cushions, framed art, tableware and accessories – thoughtfully designed and, where possible, made in collaboration with exceptional local businesses.

Much of the collection’s creative spark was found in the garden of Penally House, Anouska’s recently renovated 1836 period property on Cornwall’s north coast that was featured on Channel 4’s Renovation Nation. A sanctuary for new beginnings, the home became a powerful symbol of freedom and healing following her journey out of a violent relationship. Now lovingly restored, Penally house – and its tranquil garden – provided the emotional and visual inspiration for the collaboration’s use of colour, movement and joy, alongside the wild beauty of Cornwall’s landscapes.

“This collection is about impact. It’s fearless, decorative, and immersive, bringing statement design into everyday living,” says Anouska Lancaster. “We’ve moved away from traditional palettes to create something rich, expressive and full of energy. After a very difficult chapter in my life, Penally House became a place of restoration, creativity, and freedom. This collection is a joyful reflection of that.”

Anouska’s bold design voice was shaped by a career that began in London’s West End, where she designed award-winning nightclubs before launching Noushka Design in 2011. Since then, she has become a powerful advocate for creative expression, women’s empowerment, and domestic violence awareness. As a patron of Kaleidoscopic UK, she campaigns  for relationship education in schools and uses her platform to champion survivorship and self-expression through design.

Recognised for her tearless aesthetic and entrepreneurial spirit, Anouska has appeared on TVs Alan Titchmarsh Show, is the resident Interior Designer on QVC, and was named “Britain’s most influential interiors” by VOGUE.

Carrie Brightley, founder of interiors brand Wear the Walls – recently named by House & Garden as an emerging  brand to have on your radar – adds: “This collaboration has felt incredibly natural. By combining my expertise in textile design with Anouska’s deep understanding of crafting beautiful, functional spaces, we’ve created a truly informed interiors collection. We both believe that homeware should be meaningful, joyful and consciously made. This collection blends storytelling with bold design and a love for this beautiful place we both call home.”

Carrie Brightley brings over a decade of textile design expertise, having designed for iconic brands such as Liberty London, Harrods and House of Hackney before founding Wear the Walls in 2020. The brand champions slow, sustainable design with a strong “Made in England” ethos, combining bold print with timeless style and a deep respect for craftsmanship.

Carrie and Anouska are united by more than just aesthetic. Both are passionate about interiors that tell a story.
