Tikamoon: the new sustainable furniture collection
Share
Tikamoon was created in Lille by a small team with an enterprising spirit. From the start, they wanted to manage all the links in the chain so that they could offer our customers high-quality and long-lasting furniture at the best possible prices. From their offices and workshops, their designers and craftspeople work tirelessly to deliver the highest-quality, handmade furniture to their worldwide audience. Each piece is completely unique and delivered ready-assembled.
Tikamoon uses only sustainably sourced wood (certified by the official Indonesian agency Perum Perhutani) or recycled wood – ensuring respect for the natural environment. They are also responsible for everything from the design, all the way through to the crafting and deliver of a piece – they don’t work with any intermediaries. This guarantees the authenticity of their products and means they are sold at the fairest price.
To meet its ambition to become a sustainable company, enabling protection of the planet and human development, Tikamoon recently launched TikaGreen: a sustainable development programme certified by recognised partners such as WWF and FSC®. Tikamoon is committed to using sustainable materials, to minimising the impact of its production and transport and to maximising the lifespan of its products.
In August 2018, Tikamoon was delighted to be awarded the FSC® chain of custody certification. This label guarantees that furniture comes from environmentally and socially responsible sources. FSC® certified products are monitored throughout the production process from the forest to the customer, including all stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.
Their collection comprises of wooden furniture suitable for any room in the house, from kitchen and dining rooms to bathrooms, bedrooms and living spaces. Their furniture is versatile enough to be used in multiple rooms such as the Côme solid oak and casework chest of draws. Featuring a timeless design shape and delicately woven rattan panels that are hard-wearing yet warm and delicate, the piece can be placed in bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, kitchen or even a bathroom.
Equally versatile is the Bilal solid mango wood series which has beautiful carved doors, inspired by faraway places. It has a hard-wearing terrazzo top for practicality, on which you can put plants and cold drinks without fear of damaging it.
Paula and Inès are doubly eco-friendly – not only has the wood already been used for something else, but it is also FSC® labelled. Their beauty is in the detailing, note the delicately moulded backrest of the Paula bench, as well as the glass interior cabinet of the Inès side table.
