As part of the London Mural Festival 2024, French-Tunisian artist eL Seed created a mural, Spring Always Comes Back, which now stands 10 stories tall at Pelican House in Bethnal Green, London. eL Seed drew inspiration from a quote by Chilean poet-diplomat Pablo Neruda, blending his signature Arabic calligraphy with a message of hope, peace, and unity.

To bring his vision to life, he sought a backdrop bold enough to match the scale and sentiment of his work—YesColours’ Electric Blue.

Speaking about the YesColours’ paint, eL Seed said:

“We were searching for a blue paint colour that was going to stand out and be a perfect backdrop for the project. YesColours’ unique Electric Blue was not only incredible to use, but the colour was transformative. They produce magical paints.”

YesColours team commented:

“We were thrilled to collaborate with French-Tunisian calligraphy artist eL Seed on this project, as his artwork and values align so closely with our own. His work beautifully weaves Arabic script into murals that connect with communities, sharing messages of hope, peace, and unity. It’s an immense honour for us that our bestselling Electric Blue—bold, striking, and full of impact—is now part of that message.

We were approached by the London Mural Festival and El Seed directly to provide the colour as they couldn’t find the Electric Blue in the same intensity anywhere else, which we are quite proud of for sure!

El Seed worked very quickly, and from us supplying the paint to the completion of the project it was just a week! That said, El Seed definitely did a lot of planning before then to create the concept.”
