London-based interior design studio, Nicola Holden Designs, transformed a home now brimming with colour, culture and joy. The focus of this project was on the middle floor of this three-storey house, designing two bedrooms, a home office, and a bathroom.
The bright, striped Crucial Trading carpet on the stairs and landing set the tone for the entire colour scheme, with each room unfolding harmoniously from this playful centrepiece.

The study features beautiful flooring from Ted Todd.

Master bedroom features a bespoke headboard made by PAD UK, bringing colour and culture into the space.

In the child’s bedroom the theme is pulled together with wallpaper and curtains from Charlotte Gaisford.

The bathroom floor tiles from Maria Starling add geometric pattern to the space. The downstairs received a fresh update with new paint and tiles, creating the perfect backdrop for the client’s collection of baskets.

Nicola adds: “The design beautifully reflects my client’s Zimbabwean and Chinese heritage, her love of travel, and her talent for uncovering treasures—whether from the boutique stores of Crystal Palace or the weavers’ markets in Rwanda.
The result is a luxurious yet liveable space, brimming with colour, culture, and joy!”
