KindRoot is a new kind of kitchen company, crafting custom kitchen fronts and bespoke kitchen furniture from timeless, sustainable materials from their rural workshop in Sussex.
Built on craft, sustainability, transparency and fairness, KindRoot proudly uses beautiful, tactile materials that are kind to people and the planet. All materials are chosen not only for their beauty, but for their sustainable credentials too.
They use Grade A+ FSC-certified birch plywood for their door interiors. Blemish-free and built to perform, the material is more stable than solid wood, which warps and moves, stronger than MDF, and resistant to swelling or warping – standing the test of time in even the busiest kitchens.
The FSC-certified oak, ash, walnut, and London plane for the KindRoot’s door veneers are European native, environmentally friendly and FSC certified. Unlike other companies on the market, they never use unsustainable tropical hardwoods or non-European woods. The woods are treated with natural wax and oil finishes or low VOC lacquers.
Another exciting material they use is the carbon-positive Forbo Linoleum, which is made from flaxseed oil. Its natural, antistatic, hygienic finish resists dust and dirt, and develops a rich patina.
One of the architecture and design industry’s best kept secrets, the Richlite, which they use in their KindForm range, is a recycled paper composite that has been used in aerospace, marine, food prep and extreme sports for 70 years. Nonporous, heat and water resistant, this paper composite is as strong, durable and sustainable as it is beautiful.

Their three core ranges are inspired by the surrounding rural setting and include:
KindGrain – A carefully curated collection of naturally beautiful timber veneer doors on durable birch ply in timeless design with a choice of signature handles.
KindHome Furniture – A bespoke, free standing cabinetry that elevates any space. The oak framed freestanding furniture, in particular, makes the ideal kitchen island, cocktail bar or larder cabinet.
KindForm – An exclusive recycled paper composite for doors and surfaces. Tactile in feel with high durability, it is a perfect option for sensory kitchen design.
KindRoot hand-crafts kitchen fronts for IKEA, Howdens, Wren, Magnet or any other DIY kitchen system, and the design team can create bespoke free standing furniture to make any kitchen a reality.
KindRoot doesn’t outsource any part of the production process, they have an in-house team of dedicated crafts people that cut, craft and finish all furniture from start to finish.
Launched in January in House of Estila, you are welcome to book an appointment.
