Cadrega Interiors balances old and new in this nature-inspired dining room

Cadrega Interiors recently transformed the dining room for a flat within a Grade II listed building dating back to the 1680s in the up-and-coming NR3 area of Norwich.

Drawing inspiration from the lush greenery that characterises the surroundings,  the interior designer Celeste Conte aimed to create a calming and serene atmosphere that complements the building’s historical charm. The carefully selected a palette of soft greens and warm neutrals was chosen to evoke a sense of tranquillity, reflecting the natural beauty of the area and paying homage to the building’s storied past.

For the furniture and artwork, Celeste sourced pieces from both online platforms and local antique shops, blending modern elements with vintage finds to achieve a harmonious balance between contemporary elegance and historical charm. Key pieces included a custom-made oak dining table paired with wishbone chairs, a sleek sideboard, vintage framed prints, and a standout ceiling pendant light featuring oval hanging discs made from antiqued mirror glass, creating mesmerising reflections.

The result is a dining room that not only respects the historical significance of the building but also provides a welcoming and elegant space for modern living. This project showcases the beauty of blending old and new, creating a unique and timeless design that honors the past while embracing the present.
