TallBoy Interiors was founded nearly a decade ago with a passion for sourcing and supplying beautiful, one-of-a-kind antique furniture from across the UK and Europe. Over the years, the business has become a trusted resource for interior designers seeking quality and character, with antiques offering unmatched uniqueness and the ability to create interiors that feel truly personal and timeless.
Two years ago, TallBoy Interiors expanded its offering with a dedicated bespoke design arm. Working with traditional workshops and skilled craftspeople across the UK, the studio now produces custom-designed furniture for both residential and commercial projects.
One such project was working on the renovation of the “Silo” industrial property converted into a modern home. This luxury four-bedroom home in Malton, North Yorkshire, was transformed from eight abandoned grain silos by father and daughter developers, Richard Dales and Olivia Ward.
The project, which involved dismantling, cleaning, and rebuilding the original silos, resulted in a unique, modern residence with glass walkways, curved interiors, and stunning countryside views.
The brief for the collaboration was to create harmony with TallBoy Interiors bespoke and antique pieces, highlighting the industrial architecture of the property while giving character and charm to an extremely modern interior.
Why TallBoy Interiors?
Olivia, who led the interior design of the property, opted to work with Matt due to his distinctive eye as well as his business being able to offer one off antiques and custom made features for the interior as well as furniture shaped for the space.
Working from Matt’s experience, they were able to balance the interior of the property with unique antiques that create charm and intrigue in what would otherwise have been a highly modern and potentially cold interior.
Having access to the bespoke manufacture side of TallBoy Interiors was critical for such a unique property helping to craft project specific pieces to elevate the space.
Styling
TallBoy Interiors was also brought in to help stage the house during viewings while on sale. To give clients the understanding of how the spaces can be used and the variety of styles such a property could accommodate.
Final works
These are still on going but now the client has moved in to the ‘Silos’ and Matt is bringing more antiques, artwork and bespoke pieces into the space. The first phase was completed in mid August 25 and additional phases will continue until the end of the year.
