Interior design studio, Pelham Design, and upholstered furniture designer and maker, Isabelle Baldwin, announce their first collaboration. The new collection has been intelligently designed to adapt to the small spaces often found within city homes, along with a carefully curated selection of fabrics to choose from.
Handcrafted in the UK by Isabelle Baldwin’s specialist furniture makers and upholsterers, the made-to-order collection comprises three versatile and adaptable pieces, which aim to solve some of the challenges, which Pelham Design often encounters during interior design projects.
The Ebury Bench – Versatile and elegant, the Ebury Bench bridges the gap between an ottoman and a With its’ sleek, shallow design and low profile, it seamlessly fits into a variety of spaces, making it the perfect addition to any room. Whether placed at the foot of a bed, in a bay window, or in a hallway, the Ebury enhances both comfort and aesthetic.

The Georgia Corner Chair – Inspired by antique corner chairs which are often hard to come by, the Georgia neatly slots into small spaces, unlike other modern reproductions of the Pelham was often looking for compact bedroom chairs and ways to fill tight corners, plus the versatile design of the Georgia allows a pair to be pushed together to create a small sofa.

The Ziggy Stool – There are many stools on the market, but the quality is often The Ziggy is designed andmade to last, with a subtly inset, reeded wooden base, and a carefully structured seat. Upholstered in playful and sophisticated fabrics, it perfectly complements any space.

The collaboration began from a shared frustration at seeing poorly made furniture from well-known brands, often designed with little regard for the challenge of furnishing smaller spaces. Retail furniture is typically made in large standard sizes, yet bespoke options remain out of reach for most people. Pelham Design and Isabelle Baldwin joined forces to create the solution: a collection of beautiful, balanced furniture, designed for smaller spaces, with high-quality craftsmanship at its foundation.
Founder of her eponymous label, Isabelle Baldwin explains, “Our ethos at Isabelle Baldwin has always been to bring high-end, beautifully upholstered pieces to retail customers who might not previously have had access to bespoke, handcrafted furniture. Now, our customers can enjoy the help of an interior designer as we have worked closely with Pelham Design to curate a selection of fabrics to customise the three furniture pieces, with clever proportions.”
Merging the vision of an experienced interior designer with the craftsmanship of a high-end furniture maker, the PelhamDesign x Isabelle Baldwin collection brings beautifully-designed, bespoke furniture directly to online customers and fellow interior designers.
“As designers, there was a particular challenge we were facing time and time again…” muses Chloe Vosper Brown,Creative Director of Pelham Design, “when furnishing a small space, as many city-dwellers are trying to do, there are simply no options for good quality, off-the-shelf furniture that is compact and versatile.”
She continues, “When designing for our private clients, there is often the time and budget to design and commission bespoke furniture. Yet for anyone decorating their own home, this may not be an option due to both cost and a lack of knowledge on how to start the process. We’re excited to have created three solutions through our capsule collection with Isabelle Baldwin.”
Isabelle Baldwin and Pelham Design have selected fabric options to customise each piece, with affordability, versatility, durability and timelessness in mind. Suppliers include: Isabella Worsley, Linwood and Claremont – boutique fabric houses which retail customers are perhaps not typically familiar with.
Each of the three furniture designs are new to the Isabelle Baldwin range. Pelham Design regularly sources from Isabelle Baldwin for client projects, and this new collection marks the first product development collaboration between the two brands.
