A celebration of true British craftsmanship, Denby, one of the last remaining British porcelain manufacturers, launched the new Kiln Coral collection that embraces soft and calming hues combined with handcrafted beauty.

Beautifully uncomplicated, Kiln Coral’s gentle palette of chalk white and earthy, on-trend plaster pinks with amber under tones blend perfectly, creating a sense of warmth and calm. On place setting items the unique freckling glaze effect which is completely different on each item is restrained and subtle and sits comfortably with the serving pieces where the glaze subtly pools in the centre of each piece enhancing the soft peachy palette.
Denby’s iconic hand dipped glaze effect is used on the taller items to create a range full of layers of colour and texture.

All sustainably made to Denby’s award winning standards and handcrafted in Derbyshire, Kiln Coral comprises multi-functional pieces that are beautiful enough for mid-week and special occasion dining and serving, as well as for gifting and displaying in any room in the home.
Although delicate in appearance, Kiln Coral has Denby’s inherent qualities of durability and is safe to use in the dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer. Kiln Coral has contemporary Accent pieces adding rich tones and works well with other pieces within the Kiln portfolio.

Nicola Wilson, Pattern Design Manager comments on the inspiration behind the design:
“Pantone described Peach Fuzz, their colour of the Year for 2024, as reflecting the current need for nurturing, empathy and compassion. Subsequently, we have seen a trend for soft coral shades popping up across interiors, moving away from cold greys from previous seasons. Homes and Interiors magazine describes it as “one of the few colours that can be soft and stimulating at the same time – calming yet bringing joy”.
In our Kiln Coral collection, we have developed a shade that, when teamed with Kiln White embodies all of these traits. We have softened the mottling techniques on the place setting pieces, so they have a more subtle glow than the textural feel found on the original ‘Kiln’ pattern.
The drinking pieces still have the over-dipped, ombre effect, which showcases the new colour and complements the flatware beautifully. As with all the Kiln collection, Kiln Coral looks as good in the bathroom and home decor as it does with food and in the kitchen.”
Kiln Pastels

Denby’s new Kiln Pastels collection brings a fresh and tranquil feel to the home. Hand applied, reactive glaze effects and organic shapes using a fresh palette of lemons, greens, blues and corals, make every piece unique. In this capsule collection, there are versatile small bowls, plates and mugs which can be used all around the home as stand-alone pieces for hosting, having on display or just elevating your morning brew and weekend nibbles.
Or, each can be mixed within the wider iconic Denby Kiln collections, and all made by our talented artisans in our Derbyshire pottery using local clay.
The collection showcases our unique glaze effects such as flooping, hand dipping and double dipping on a small number of items and has been designed to be a collection that can be purchased in a number of ways – as single items for different occasions, by single colour, mixing a few colours or combine all four and to layer with Kiln and Kiln Green or Kiln Coral to make a colour accent. You edit your selection to your own unique style.
Nicola Wison, Denby’s Pattern Design Manager, comments on the inspiration behind the Pastels collection:
“Pastels are key interior colours, bringing tranquillity and a calming energy when used in the home. They can add both warmth and freshness and work well when layered with other colours and materials, especially natural woods and stone. Our Kiln Pastel collection takes the softly textured white glaze from the Kiln ranges and blends it with four complementary tones, all inspired by natural shades and surfaces.
As with the autumn accent colours, this considered collection showcases the different glazing techniques we can achieve here at Denby.”
