Art driven design brand Porter Teleo enters UK market
Share
If you love fine art and design, you’ll love Porter Teleo. This newly launched brand on the UK market offers unique wall covering and textile collections for interiors, both residential and contract markets. I’ve heard about Porter Teleo when I met Shana Harrison, its UK representative at a recent networking event. We got talking and when she showed me some of the collection, I was immediately impressed by the design and unique artistic approach which I don’t come across very often.
Founded in 2006 by artist Kelly Porter and interior designer Bridgett Cochran, Porter Teleo’s inspirations are drawn from ancient Japanese screens, antique architectural ornamentation, and of course the hand of Kelly Porter. With domestic and international showroom representation, the duo has worked with top designers, architects and celebrities across the globe including Robert Couturier, Alexandra Champalimaud, Gwen Stefani, Cameron Diaz and the CEO of Microsoft. What’s more impressive is also their design work they created for purveyors Schumacher, Perennials Fabrics and Valley Forge.
The patterns are created by employing a variety of fine art processes, such as Japanese wash-painting, chine-collé, and wood blocking. Each product is hand painted or hand printed on Japanese rice paper and has been made by the same family for over 400 years. It is archival in quality, acid-free and does not contain fillers.
As an editor of ESTILA, I’m so excited to be the first introducing this brand to you. If you are an interior designer or interiors lover who is looking for unique and beautiful, artistic handmade creations for your next project, Porter Teleo is definitely worth considering.
