the natural screen company butler's tray table

The Natural Screen Company has for the past five years built a reputation for producing the finest Butler’s tray tables on the market. Completely made by hand in the UK using locally sourced, sustainable materials, the tray tables come in beautifully spray painted or natural range of colours. To celebrate five years in business, and in the run up to Christmas, the Newbury based business is offering customers customised trays and tables. From initials, a personalised logo to crest etched on glass, customers are able to create something truly unique to them to treasure.

Open six days a week bordering the Sydmonton Court Estate, The Natural Screen Company’s clients include Lady Lloyd Webber, Lady Bamford and journalist Kate Reardon. Founded in 2017 by former top level show rider, Lucinda Freedman who, with a passion for traditional British craftsmanship and English décor, started the business with a clear mission to create simple, high quality classic furniture with a twist. Their furniture range includes desks, butler’s trays and screens.

“We have a hard-earned reputation for creating the very best quality Butler’s trays on the market. Our talented team of craftspeople can create tables and trays in any size or shape using British sourced Birch and Oak. Then, allowing enough time for the wood to breathe we can paint to a clients desired colour and finish – often inspired by the seasons to give the trays the depth of colour and richness to enhance a room. All our products are totally unique to the client, made locally with a finish that is second to none and are designed to last a lifetime.” Lucinda Freedman, founder, The Natural Screen Company.

Initially, Lucinda started the business designing pieces for her own home and close friends. As the quality and finish of the pieces became apparent, the business soon grew through word of mouth. Some of the recent commissions include a range of upholstered and hand painted screens for a Chateau in the South of France and large-scale lacquered butler’s trays for a London Hotel.

Attention to detail and customer service are key and Lucinda works with each client to design each bespoke commission that will make the most of any space and scheme.

Forming great partnerships with other likeminded sustainable businesses, The Natural Screen Company works with Graphenstone and Farrow & Ball paint on delivering high quality paint finishes.
