Houseof x Emma Gurner collection: Colour contrast

Share

new collaborative collection by lighting brand houseof and designer Emma Gurner

British lighting brand houseof is excited to announce their latest collaboration with interior designer Emma Gurner. Emma Gurner and houseof have a long standing relationship, with Emma often using houseof lighting in her projects.

Emma’s designs are notable for her playful use of colour and incorporating modern style with hints of nostalgia. Alongside houseof’s bold colour palette and retro shapes, the collaboration feels a natural fit.

“We are super excited to collaborate with Emma Gurner on this fresh new collection. We have worked with Emma since the launch of houseof in 2019 and have always been a fan of her bold interiors and the way she champions colour and texture – we couldn’t be happier with the designs Emma has created for us.” Helen White, houseof

Emma Gurner and houseof have designed 6 different pieces for The Colour Contrast Collection, this takes form in 2 ranges – The Pleat Range and The Ribbed Range – which include table lamps, ceiling lights, floor lamps and wall lights, all will be available to purchase in May 2023.

The collection encompasses classic style with a modern twist, with beautiful warm colours, interesting shapes and textural elements. Contrasting colours are of the essence of these lights, with the pairing of moss green with pale blue and burnt orange with pale pink.

The colour palettes are striking on their own but warm enough to fit in with existing interior schemes.

Both ranges stand out with their interesting material choices, by using steel and glass for the light shades, the designers have taken something that may have once felt quaint and old fashioned and given a sleek new twist.

This collection explores how different colour combinations work harmoniously together. The range was inspired by vintage designs, with a contemporary twist. My aim was to produce a lighting range that complimented the edgy style of houseof whilst introducing an element of my own bold and colourful style.”, Emma Gurner

The Pleat Range

The lamp shades in this range are made from painted steel and the exteriors are finished in either a burnt orange or moss green. The interiors have been painted in their corresponding contrasting shades, which gives a warming glow and is a subtle way to introduce more colour into a space.

The table lamp and floor lamp both have an adjustable tilting shade, so the light can be angled to your preferred direction.

The Ribbed Range

The lights in this range are made from ribbed glass, which feels elegant and airy, with painted steel detailing bringing in the signature colours of this collaboration.
