It’s always exciting to see when independent designers come together for a unique design collaboration and that’s exactly what Susi Bellamy and Alice from BeauVamp did. With a passion for colour and interiors, Alice, founder and designer at BeauVamp, decided to build an exciting brand offering a completely new take on the old fashioned lampshade and now works on a wide range of domestic and commercial projects whilst launching new lighting collections and collaborations throughout the year.
Susi Bellamy is a British designer who creates vibrant, colourful interiors based on her original paintings and marbled papers. Her artwork is inspired by her great love of colour, her background as a fashion editor and her time living in Florence. Her collection includes wallpaper, fabric, cushions and scarves.
Having collaborated before with Susi’s geometric designs, the pair have now focused on two directional designs from her other collections. Susi’s designs have been re-presented onto luxurious, silky satin so Alice can pleat the shades on top for her signature look. Her hand dyed fringing complements the look using two shades to give a shimmering touch of colour. The beautiful shades can be used as table lamps, standard lamps or ceiling lights and paired with Susi’s matching cushion collection further enhances this design duo’s love of colour and interior aesthetics.
Hand stitched around a bespoke bronze frame with a double layer tassel fringe, the Tiffany range of lampshades are left unlined to let the maximum amount of light to travel through the textured silk, giving them a truly vibrant glow when lit. If you wish to use this lampshade on a lamp they recommend using a short Globe Bulb as the shape is quite shallow.
