Embellished Truth is a trans-seasonal luxury accessory label that focuses on environmental sensibilities. Each handbag is made-to-order in a family-run factory in East London using eco-friendly materials that supports traditional craftsmanship. From the chrome-free leather, hand spun and handwoven organic cotton lining, upcycled and recycled fabrics, the brand’s mission is to prove that sustainable materials can be beautiful and desirable.

The leather, which is a byproduct of the food industry, is tanned in Europe using eco-friendly methods that are free from chromium, heavy metals and harsh chemicals. This tanning process takes longer than conventional methods but results in a breathable and ultimately a biodegradable material. Sustainably harvested vegetable tannins, such as tara and rhubarb are used to create the vibrant colours in the collection. This leather is proven to be particularly allergy friendly.

Inspired by her Indian heritage and womenswear design background, founder Bharati Manchanda creates pieces to empower the wearer with statement styles that are bold and functional. Using embroidery, surface embellishments, prints and colour, the designs embody the needs of a modern lifestyle with large tote bags to smaller clutches.

Embellished Truth practices a zero-waste policy. All leather offcuts are saved after production and used to create smaller accessories such as zip pulls and jewellery.
